I've put a useful recipe for a cold and flu remedy/preventative using elderberries on my website see http://www.rowancottherbs.co.uk/elderberry.html
Might be very useful to make some up now while the elderberries are just coming ripe and keep in the store cupboard. _________________ Erica Hollis BSc MNIMH

Thank you for this Erica.
How does it taste? Stupid question? Wondering wether the little one will go for it...or if she should? She's ok with eachineacha drops in her fruit juice. _________________ Better late than never! |

pretty sweet tasting - you might want to avoid cloves for wee one as they can have a funny taste that tots pick up on. Otherwise definitely good for kids too - for 5-12 year-olds use half adult dose i.e. half a teaspoonful daily or 3x daily during cold/flu. For younger than that just add a few drops to food or drink. _________________ Erica Hollis BSc MNIMH

pimento, also called allspice, is a spice often added to Xmas cakes, mulled wine etc so may be in supermarkets but certainly in any shop that carries a good range of herbs and spices.
