I have just been diagnosed as hyperthyroid. I'm half the woman I was (well - I have lost about 10lbs in total so that is a bit of an exaggeration!).
I am hoping for some tips from anyone who knows about this for coping strategies and good things to do.
It is pretty annoying that my system is destroyng itself as the eye thing I have, the chest thing I have, and now the thyroid thing I have are all auto immune diseases, so my body seems to be not recognising itself.
I joined an online group but everyone on there seem to be full of doom and gloom and how we are all going to be ill for the rest of our lives, etc etc, and I don't accept this. I think I can get my imune system back up and running again if I do the right things, and I reckon this is the place to get some good tips on those 'right' things.
Ta in advance. _________________ No single raindrop believes it is to blame for the flood.

I think you're half way there already - you've got a positive attitude, and won't accept this lying down - I'd suggest talking to your friends as to "who's good" in the alternative therapy field in your area - sometimes there are natural health clinics where there's all sorts of disciplines to choose from - for you, I'd suggest traditional chinese acupuncture, homoeopathy, perhaps herbalism, reflexology or aromatherapy - all have their strengths, will do no harm, and can often work miracles!
I'm all for sticking two fingers in the air at the doom merchants, and getting better just to spite them! _________________ http://solarwind.org.uk |

I didn't have this attitude this time last week, believe me.
You know what changed my mind? The online group I joined. When I was ill with the costochondritis 2 years ago, I was faced with everyone I met who also had it with a real defeatist attitude. I still get it a wee bit, but I refused to let it rule my life and I am about 95% better. I am faced with the same 'woe is me' attitude in this other group. I reckon that surrounding yourself with that state of mind will put you in your box a lot quicker than being positive and believing I can defeat this. _________________ No single raindrop believes it is to blame for the flood.

| Do you not have Reiki 2? I'm maybe getting you mixed up with someone else. If you do have it, you should try giving yourself treatments. It may not cure you, but could help ease your symptoms. |

Yes, I do have Reiki II and I have been giving myself treatments. I just think I need a complete lifestyle makeover. _________________ No single raindrop believes it is to blame for the flood.
