Very early this morning I noticed the cat was watching something in the grass. I wandered over and saw a shrew nosing around.
Rather than leave it to the cats doubtful mercy, I caught it in my hands and carried it to safety.
For the whole of the time I was carrying it, it kept biting me!
When I've rescued mice, they always just sit in my hands and wait, but this shrew had a real attitude problem! I'm just glad it was so small it didn't really cause that much hurt.

I think my female cat is getting fat on shrews. She's a real huntress...and always seem to be chasing something. Hasn't stopped us having mice(?) in the shed, nibbling away at boxes, bike seat ect. _________________ Better late than never! |
