Hi,
Just to let you know that as from June 2010 i WILL be doing a local veg box scheme in the Huntly area for those interested. This year has been a bit difficult with setting up the growing area (flooding/drainage!), but now I'm ready for a proper start to 2010. Currently, I only have enough veg to support existing customers over the next few months but I will be able to to supply more customers next summer onwards for locally grown veg, grown with no chemicals and no pesticides... (no brought in veg/fruit either). If you are interested in joining the scheme, please email me at huntlyharvest@aol.com or call me on 01542 870201 (not often indoors to hear the phone though, but please leave a message with contact details and I'll get back to you).
Here's to a good growing season next year!!

the growing season was awful for my veg box supplier too, down in Ballater area, they had to have 2 week suspension at one stage because they couldnt be happy with the quality (they are very selective, all the stuff is gorgeous). It was a real struggle for them.
Hopefully 2010 will be great growing weather! _________________ Happiness is a Haflinger! |

The season was awful - I won't forget in a hurry how I got my wellies stuck in the mud while weeding carrots... And the tractor got bogged down planting leeks, and and and - went on like that all season! It's a miracle the veg turned out as well as it did, really! _________________ Ina |
