What an afternoon of wind and rain was blown all over the place coming home from old meldrum and lots of flooding did a spot of aquaplanning here and there
hope its better in a few hours taking dad and sister to prestwick airport leaving at 1am not looking forward to it if the rain stays on

Well we were supposed to be coming home on the ferry from Shetland tonight. Been blowin a hooley here for a few days, but not the rain you've been having Aberdeenshire way. Went to Lerwick, via the chemist for the strongest seasick tabs they'd sell us, went to the terminal with much trepidation. The ferry's cancelled until v early tomorrow.. hoping the gale will have eased by then...

its really bad here. We've got high winds and rain. I've had to dig a drainage ditch from infront of the field shelter round down the hill to let the water escape.
I got very very wet just working outside for 30 minutes.
The ground is so water logged that any new rain can't go in.

had calmed down dramaticly by the time we left at one but was afa windy and raining nucket fulls by the time we got around dunblane and all the way back to stirling was pretty nice most of the way home so got to my craft fair nice and early (wasnt first 2 had forgot about the clocks changing)

Was thinking of going over to see the Wickerman at Archeolink today. I like supporting the event and the kids always have a grand time, but it was just too soggy today.

Thanks for asking, Andy. Better than I expected, but very a very hairy experience. We got to the terminal at 0530, as requested, and eventually left at the back of 11. Once out to sea, there was much rolling, crashing of crockery and shaking when the boat crashed down waves. On the plus side, there were only 56 folk on board, the youngest and I grabbed a comfy sofa each in the restaurant, and we actually had a lazy day, reading and dozing, and no-one I saw was sick. Thank goodness for seasick tabs. Eventually arrived home an hour ago - phew 
The ferry north last night had it worse I gather, leaving Aberdeen at 5, then breaking the mooring ropes in Kirkwall, not getting to Lerwick till after 8pm. The poor passengers. We had it light in comparison.
this was the same ship coming into Aberdeen last week...
Next time I might fly...
