I realize that the worse possible outcome would be devastating after your degree and all the work you've put into it but 'on a positive note,' I believe people will always come to herbalists even if payment was by a barter system.
I'm not insured as a Reflexologist anymore as I'm not practising with other things going on in life but I've been to known to give occasional treatments to trusted people for candles, bubble bath etc. These days LOL!!!!!! it would take a free shed delivered here for my chooks but boy there would be a lot of reflex mileage in that!!!!
(Not a hint!!!! Just put back out, would seize up in seconds LOL)

OMGoodness....just looked at the consultation!! Why do they have to make everything look so difficult. It's time someone taught folks who create 'public' consultations how to write plain english! Add to that how easy it is to find this consultation (wouldn't have known it existed without you PC) and i'm guessing it's not something that's anyone would know about until decisions have already been made for us. Consultation....pah.
Thanks again for pointing this out PC. Can't fill the doc in now...cold has befuddled my thinking...but will do before the 2nd.
FMN...i'm not joining in lol at your poorly back (although you did say your shuffle is pretty hee hee ha ha ). Seriously - strict rest for you at min. Sending you dollops of 'feel better soon' thoughts. _________________ Better late than never! |

I wish I could offer a positive perspective on this but unfortunately not. If there is a determination towards statutory regulation then it will happen. MSPs will already have been told how they are voting and that will be the end of the matter. Any current regulatory body will be found cowering in the corner muttering "it wisnae me, it was a big boy done it and ran away"!
This happened recently with chartered psychologists where only the chosen few were selected from the professional membership body for automatic transfer to the health professions council for statutory regulation. Over 2000 practising psychologists who had not trained through a specified route, (such as clinical or educational psychology) and even if they were better qualified than those transferred, were told to pay for their own transfer. A bargain at £700.
In this sneeze and I'll sue you culture, as long as nanny state is seen to be protecting everyone with reams of registers and registrants, then they can continue to turn their backs to the wind and mutter "it wisnae me"! |

I fear the "consultation" will be yet another example of the government's version of democracy and listening to the electorate - "well, we've made up our minds, but we'll go through the motions of actually listening to you (stupid peasants) - we've done the deals, trousered the brown envelopes from Big Pharma, ordered the new Beamer, and bought the holiday home- but we'll give you the belief you've contributed to the "discussion" - suckers!" _________________ http://solarwind.org.uk |
