What a horrendous morning. Last night it was raining very heavily, then it must have got very cold. The result was what looked like water on the roads and pavements was black ice around 4mm thick. Fell on my (ample, luckily!) behind twice, and did much interesting cornering...

Could do without that at 7am

Thin sprinkle of snow this morning, didnt look too slippy so we took the horses out but turned back as they were slipping around and instead hooleyed round our own fields on the farm which was great.

Sadly the weather outlook is terrible for tonight and it is already getting windy with thin sleety rain. Im not looking forward to the 80mph winds forecast.......

very windy here now, trees are bending right over, these high winds frighten the life out of me and we always seems to need roof repairs after high winds. We are very exposed where we are so may be better down in the village.

Very windy here tonight. The door to the old cottage has blown in, the 10ft, fibreglass dinghy (very heavy) has been blown across the steading, and the roof is creaking (that only happens when the wind speed exceeds 40mph).

The UK wind map would suggest it's a 40-56mph blow. Not bad, but still 30mph below our best!!

Very windy here too.

Electricity went down from about 5-10pm. Not sure it had anything to do with the wind?

MMmmmm no sleep for me last night apart from maybe half an hour, really ghastly gales...we always get about an extra 25-30% on top of the worst forecast for our area so reckon well over 70mph last night. Camped out in the house with the dogs as caravan wasnt a nice place to be.....

Yeah - was windy here too last night. I was thinking of you caravan dwelling folk!

We've had blips in our electricity a few times around 5 just lately - we had one last night too but we didn't get the full blown powercut.
