Hi all - have a great Festive period from all who are involved with the Master Composter project.  Just to say there are two events lined up already for 2008 - so you can plan ahead.  9th February,2008 at Benholm Mill, near Johnshaven and 8th March, 2008 at Pitcaple Community garden.

More details nearer the time.  Myself and the Community Composting Network officer will be at both events.

Just to let people know we are running a home composting event at Benholm Mill on the 9th February.  Later the same day, we will have a talk on BeeKeeping.  The plan is to split the day, so people who are interested in one subject but not the other can drop in and enjoy. Or attend both if you want. I will provide times later this week.  Lunch will be provided after composting talk.  The event is free.

For those interested, you can contact Aberdeen Forward on 01224 774177 Or Tony on 07977 589383

PPG here - any chance of having these events in the North (ie. nearer Turriff) sometime?

Hi, just a very quick word to say the Pitcaple Composting event will be on the 15th March and not the 8th.  It will be held at the Pitcaple Community Garden.

PPG - I would love to hold an event up in Turriff.  I need to encourage more people to home compost.  Any suitable locations, or organisations that I might be able to tie in with?

Cheers

PPG here - What about liaising with Keenan's at New Deer (they turn forest waste & old wood into compost)? They have held Waste Aware events in their big shed.

Yeah - I know Keenan's. They will be having an open day during "compost awareness week" sometime between 4th and 10th May.  I am sure I will hook up with them for some joint publicity - might be able to do something more comprehensive.

Thanks

This weekend it is Benholm Mill - from 10.30am - coffee and tea, talks on homecomposting and community composting, then a free lunch, the afternoon will be a talk on beekeeping.  Benholm Mill is near Johnshaven.

In March - 15th we will be holding a similar event at Pitcaple Community Garden.

Booking: call Aberdeen Forward 01224 774177

Please come along - even if it is just for part of the day.
