Hi jaydee, here's some of the questions that made me think...

1. Any regrets? Things you wish had or hadn't done

2. What did you want to be when you grew up/what do you want to be when you grow up?

3. Fantasy party - who would you invite (living or dead) and why?

4. Is there anything someone else could do for you that would change your life at all?

5. Do you think your personality comes out the same on here as in face to face?

6. If you could ban one item in the world what would it be?

7/, Tell us a bit about life in the Shetland islands, what you like best about it and what the differences are as you see it.

I wish I had taken the chance to finish higher education the first time around - doing qualifications by distance learning with children and a job to go to is a lot harder!

2. What did you want to be when you grew up/what do you want to be when you grow up?

Do I have to grow up? I've always wanted to work with children - the qualification I didn't finish was my NNEB, I have now got the qualifications and work with children with learning difficulties - so I guess I got there!

3. Fantasy party - who would you invite (living or dead) and why?

The Neepsters - coz I'd love to meet you all! Along with the Poultry Keeper crowd

Torey Hayden - She's a special needs teacher in the states and her books are fantastic, if sometimes gruelling, to read

Jamie Oliver - and I'd get our school cook to do the catering so he can see the quality of food served at school - not all school dinners are bad news

4. Is there anything someone else could do for you that would change your life at all?

Leave me an inheritance! Then I can get some more land!

5. Do you think your personality comes out the same on here as in face to face?

I'm probably more outgoing online - I think. Interesting question, wouldn't it be good to 'see oursel's as ithers see us'?

6. If you could ban one item in the world what would it be?

Fast cars - I don't see the point in having cars that can do high speeds when the speed limit is 70mph at most in the country. It is 30mph past my house and I'm sure some think it's 60!

Life is mostly treeless and windswept with some of the most stunning scenery around. It can be cold wet and windy a lot - and it is said there are too seasons, winter and bad weather, not true though. It is also said if you don't like the weather, wait a while and it'll change - true!

I live in the North Mainland of Shetland, work is 15 miles one way and town is 18 miles in the other direction. We have fairly good local shops (the one in the village I work in especially!) and I don't have to go into town too often, thankfully. I like not being crowded, I find that hard when on the mainland - Union Street can be a nightmare and I am not a person who enjoys shopping as a pastime anyway. I'd far rather shop online - and in that respect there is nothing we can't get here now. A crowded beach on Shetland has a couple of families, white sand and crystal clear (cold) sea. There are times when I long for something more - but a quick fix on the mainland and I'm usually happy to get back home. It can be hard when the boat doesn't run and the shops don't get fresh produce in - but I have 2 and a bit freezers and we buy local lamb and beef in bulk.

I've lived here for 28 years and one day - not that I'm counting! Before this I lived in Cornwall and came north when my dad got a job on the oil terminal. I am married to an islander and we have 3 kids. Shetland is a great place for kids - they can go out without you having to worry about them and there is a community feel. My oldest is at uni in Edinburgh and loves city life, my daughter did an HNC at Aberdeen College and couldn't wait to get home! My youngest is 13 and dreaming of going away - but he wants to come back!

Not sure what else to tell you - if you want to know anything else, you'll just have to ask!

my 3 children who have given me many moments to be proud of (glosses over the hair pulling out moments)

9. Desert Island, 3 people, 3 items
Hugh Fearlessly Eating all (we wouldn't go hungry!)
Dawn French (very interesting)
Steve Redgrave (to get us out of there!)

my camera
a box of matches - not into sushi
a snorkel

10. What is your favourite author(s)?
I read a lot - different authors and books, best book I think is The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night time by Mark Haddon - brilliant book. Just read The Island by Victoria Hislop and Somebody Else's Kids by Torey Hayden.

11. What type of music do you like?
Lots of different stuff, Queen, 80's in general, some classical and some folk. Mainly easy listening - unless I'm in the mood for loud! Radio tends to be tuned to radio 2.

NEEPS (of course)
The Poultry Keeper http://forums.thepoultrykeeper.co.uk/index.php
TA Chat ( a site for teaching assistants) http://ta.forumup.org/
Shetlink http://www.shetlink.com/
Northmavine Forum (forum for the north of Shetland) http://northmavine.proboards86.com/index.cgi
Poultry in Your Yards (US site) http://poultryinyouryards.yuku.com/

13. If you could go on holiday tomorrow anywhere in the world, where would you go?
Always wanted to go to Canada - but would need to be a long trip to make the most of it. Quite pleased to be going to the Seychelles on someone's else's tab next month!

14. What's your fondest childhood memory?
Spending the weekend at my Gran's. My 3 sisters had to top and tail in the spare double bed, but I got to sleep with Gran in her bed, piled with blankets to keep us cosy while we chatted and then slept.
