Official minimum here -5.5 at head height, at ground level -10.1... Still -2.6 now, and sunny. My windscreen had loads of ice on it this morning - on the inside! And there I found a great second use for cotton shopping bags: you can use them to wipe your windscreen if you don't happen to have a cloth handy... _________________ Ina |

The caravan windows have beautiful fern patterns on them
I am old enough to remember when bedroom windows usually had patterns on them in winter, because bedrooms were not heated. You just put socks and a cardigan over your PJs. And then tried not to step on the lino on your way to the bathroom LOL
Edited to say Oh dear it reads a bit like the Python sketch about we were so poor we had to live in a cardboard box etc lol _________________ Sassinak

LOL Sass.
We stayed in a rented house for a while at Kildrummy - during a particularly bad winter we had frost on the inside WALLS - not just the windows. We used to check each day to see how thick the frost was. _________________ Neeps Flickr Group - check out some of the fab photos from other Neepsters and share some of your own. |

I empathise too. My last house had stone floors and I was too skint to carpet them for about a year. It had an open fire but didn't really heat the house. Was full winter clothes inc jacket and moon boots for anything other than the height of summer. Bought me and the kids closer though - too blinking cold to move away from the fire |

OMG thats pretty cold.
All this is making me think there is a rosier side to the delays in stable and agric building going up and consequently my move up to our place as I will be in a caravan too Maybe I'll have to relax the bedroom ban on the dogs - a Border terrier on my feet and a Doberman on the rest should do the trick
The temp is causing most of the current delay too - the base for both agric and stable buildings need concrete base to set properly and that aint going to happen at -8.....
We are minimising the concrete tho by only having it round the edge of the barn, the inside floor will be heavily compressed plain granite offcut chips, doesnt work with the stables sadly but at least they are a smaller area. _________________ Happiness is a Haflinger! |
