The car boot sale at Thainstone always has lots of people selling baby stuff. Lots of it hardly used and a fraction of the cost. I go for recycling stuff for crafts and am amazed at the amount of baby things. I also buy baby alarms now and again to use in our workshop - can hear if someone goes in to workshop during our coffee breaks! _________________ Local food - better by far! |

Honestly if I can help in any way. I maybe in Shetland now, but got "Young Parenting" contacts from here to Dumfries.
I was an old Mum in our street when I had RumJ at 20, but I still found it hard.
If she confident enough try getting her to a bumps and babies group. These are usually filled with women a little older, but are good support. _________________ Smile |

I got beautiful stuff at NCT sales when lived on west coast, bumbs and babes was good too. How about Netmums? Not sure of the website address exactly but thibk it's www.netmums.co.uk com, (laptop struggling to work, so best not check or will still be here tuesday) you can log in locally and they have noticeboards, get togethers all sorts, fab thing.

| We still have some things tucked away. We had them on Freecycle and in ScotAds, but people kept turning them down for not being new enough/fashionable enough. Almost all in good to very good condition but almost 10 years old. I'll have a look and see what we have left if you're interested. |

Maybe her midwife will already have told her but she should sign up babyclubs now. Many have forms in Emmas Diary. Most supermarkets, boots, mothercare etc give out freebees and money off vouchers during pregnancy, at birth and at key stages during 1st year.
Your student card can also get discounts at many stores, as can her young scot (if it's not still valid, update it, it's worth every penny) don't forget to ask! _________________ Smile |
