Knew it couldn't last, but it's always a bit sad to see the last of the Martins & Swallows. Thursday there were loads in the sky - catching great mothfuls of midges & clegs. By Sunday, they were all gone. The sky is so quiet now. Autumn can't be far away - we have a Buck Roe in one of our fields - he seems to lurk in the margins - he's barking madly, trying to attract some new company. Anyone else lost their summer lodgers?
