Do you know if my information is correct or not? I was once told that field or horse mushrooms at the side of busy roads were not advised to eat because of the heavy pollution caused by traffic.
Is this tosh and nonsense?

cheers, Gussyboy

Collected a few raspberries (memory shoddy, could have sworn the ones in the forest were blackberries) and luckily spotted some blackberries on the way home.

Made a delicious forest fruit fool

The Hawthorn bushes are absolutely laden with berries down here...

Noticed HFW made a haw-sin sauce to go with his ducks last night on river cottage autumn

My dad always used to say that worms in apples and maggots in mushrooms would be 99.9% apple or mushroom anyway, so not to worry!

We picked crowberries on Sunday on the Menie Links - lots of them there.  Another reason why Donald Trump should not build his resort there!!
