Wet and miserable here - the newly drained mini lake in the field across from our house is back! Our garden looks like a paddy field.

Who IS this? Think I've had a visit. If you know them well can you tell them I'm not taking visitors - especially when we are unwell and can't find the Olbas. _________________ Better late than never! |

Well I used to live in a flat which was part of a 1720s Georgian brewery owners house in Bradford on Avon in Wiltshire.
I kept waking up convinced there was someone in the hallway walking around. But there was never anyone there, but a slightly funny taste to the air.
I nearly died of fright when one day I went to the local post office to get my TV licence and the chap behind the desk looked at the address and said 'Ah you've got the lady who walks in your house'.........
He said she was the brewery owners wife and there was some tragedy but cant remember the details....
Hence the spooky reference! _________________ Happiness is a Haflinger! |

oooooh spooky! There's a debate about spooky happenings - perhaps you could copy this over there - might inspire others to remember their 'happenings'? couldn't find a ghosty emoticon _________________ Better late than never! |

We had a bit of excitement here last night. Rain plus plummeting temperatures meant black ice all along the roads beside the croft by midnight. Then, there was a serious accident on the A96 and traffic was diverted down the road in front of the croft.
The result was a Stagecoach bus (the No.10 to Aberdeen) going sideways around the bend and getting stuck across the road. No damage and no injuries, and with a bit of work we got him out but we had five cars spin as well before I managed to get our stretch salted and the diversion stopped.
Phew! |
