Funny thing was, I was driving in and they were saying that 'meldrum academy was closed but nothing about the primary school... by the time I got to work the primary had closed as well though.

Dunno about anyone else but schools seem to close easier/quicker now than they used to... we hardly ever had a day off school due to snow and there was more of it about for longer IMO.

Strichen primary is closed as is Mintlaw Primary. The High schools are open but DS's Taxi driver decided not to take the chance. My two are up at the lake playing in the snow.
I'm meant to be in Huntly at Lunchtime.
This is the weather at 9.20am

We have had rain this morning in peterhead but on my way to work just at asda there was a light scattering but boy by longside air field there was lots of snow, by mintlaw a good 4-5 inches,

The lake is still frozen about 2-3 inches  day 5 now, this is the earliest we have been frozen this long for a long time, It now has a good coat of snow on top of it.

The swans, geese and ducks normally keep a little bit clear just by swimming around but what ever they had kept clear yesterday is now solid too.

Our road is clear enough to drive on now, but I can't be bothered to clear the driveway so the car can just stay put today. Keep getting brief power cuts though, have had quite a few so far today.

Snowing again here this afternoon but nothing too significant. Looks like we're in for another load on Thursday.
