Its a shame you were treated like that stonehead. Can I raise my head up in safety here as an archaeologist?
When I lived down south and I was working in museums and we would have always taken the time to look at the stuff and at least identify it for you, yes it might be out of context but it is anyway as it is effectively in the ploughsoil and so disturbed archaeology anyway. Have they never heard of fieldwalking? In theory they are meant to be encouraging community archaeology not brushing you off - arrghhhhh , will stop ranting now.
I am not setting myself up as an expert but if there is anything you want to send me a pic of I will be happy to have a look for you and see if I can identify it or help you at all  |
