where shall i start i know from the beginning
i didnt actually get here till 5 mins before the first arrival. so firstly id like to thank my son j, who on hearing my panic on the phone , came round and spent 2 hrs tidying the living room .
ill mention people in order of appearance/arrival
firstly julie and dale, julie bought her spinning wheel, and showed her spinny thing, im not sure of the name of what she was doing, hopefully she will tell us a bit on it on here , thanks julie.
dale bought her paints and brushes and a wine bottle box, which she painted in folk art, it is to be a bird feeder , she also made me realise that all the flowers dont have to be the same, and in fact they shouldnt be thats folk art. thanks dale.
andy for bringing along his hat he made and other bits, hopefully he will tell us about them
monkey nuts, who seemed to be settling into the spinning wheel very well, i hope you enjoyed yourself,
maria and carrot lover ,who was obviously born to be an artist, theres no question there, i thought your folk art was cracking, hope you enjoyed yourself.
and maria, for taking over the t making thanks your a star.
and then theres me, who would never have got my peaduck done had you not of all come seriously i really enjoyed myself
thats it folks

T'was a fab night as always. Thanks for hosting again SH - I know this time was tricky for you!!
The spinning was called navajo plying. It allows you to turn a single ply (on one bobbin) into a 3 ply. Lovely technique that I'll be trying at home - thanks for the demo Julie. The folk art was amazing. I loved your teapot Dale. Reminds me of the wonderful canal barge deco. Could do with a picci really, words don't do it justice at all.
Was great to meet everyone again - and Monkey Nuts for the first time. Andy - good luck with Sat the craft fair! If anyone's by Peterhead go and have a peek at Andy's crafts...loved the driftwood keyrings.

Oooh there's so much to choose from. Talking of Andy's keyrings maybe looking like letters got me thinking about calligraphy and chinese writing. I think Carrot Lover has a writing set somewhere with ink stick and nibs....oooh and I like Celtic lettering too.

Dale

That sounds good, I have a book on painting on bamboo and rice paper so I could maybe bring that along too Chinese painting is great fun.

Is that the re-vamped and re-located farmers market at Peterhead on saturday that Andy is going to? I will do my best to get along, I know it is in a hall somewhere instead of Drummers corner but does anyone know exactly where please? I'm sorry I missed the last meeting as well I will try and make the next one.
Lisa.
