We're a Tourist AttractionIt is really nice that we can help people and love to show off our house, but it really eats into the weekend.
Saturday was a write-off as we had to go to a wedding - actually not a true wedding but a re-affirnmation of vows by the daughter of a friend, who had a very quiet wedding 5 years ago and wanted a proper one !! The twins were amongst the bridesmaids and pageboys and looked absolutely fantastic. I will post a pic if I get Nix' permission
A lot of today was spent showing people around the house.
The first tour was a local couple who found my website by Googling 'Steading Conversion' and found my website. (I didn't know I was that famous lol)
The second was introduced by our architect as they are considering underfloor heating and a ground source heat pump.
They were all very nice and complimentary, but it has eaten most of the day and we have got very little done

It's quite nice really - and it's great that you are showcasing the ground source heat pump and the 'greener build' ideal. Should perhaps suggest to your architect that if he's got others to show around, then a bottle of wine would be a nice gesture for taking up some of your valuable time

We have a similar problem! but it is driven by the fact that the lady who owned it for ages after the war fostered about a zillion children as well as having her own and all their relatives turn up to see the place where their parents or they were brought up......
...We had 2 lots last weekend, one of whose great grandfather made the house 2 storey in 1882 and plastered his initials and the date on the house and put on the fancy ball finials etc (house originally late 1700s single storey). Thus a century and a half later landing us with the dubious privilege of a grade B listing
Noone comes to see our steading conversion as it isnt started yet

I would lurve to come and see both your homes - as done/undone as they are....for they both mean that which at first look does not seem possible....IS!!! May I add that I'll bring willing hands....and any other bribe...red/white...that you'll take, to have a peek at the wonders that you're creating/about to create. We are setting out on your path...and it is wonderful to know it can be done.
What are your (Sass & L&M) next jobs to do....and do you need a lift? Am willing and able (and even have brains to match sometimes) that want to learn.

Give it a week or so and you can help unpack and sort books !!!
Just waiting for the joiner to the last bits f the staircase, so that we can get the carpet down and the last couple of bits of shelf finish and then there are dozens of boxes of books to be sorted. All help gratefully received.
Don't get me wrong, I love showing people around because I am so proud of it. I suppose I was just frustrated by an entire weekend with no results
