I'm obviously missing something here - "dyke" conjures up two meanings to me - the thing that a little dutch boy shoved his finger into to stop the farmland flooding, and the vision of a large crop-headed "bull dyke" in dungarees - neither seem to resemble the jewellery - please elucidate!

A dyke is another name for a dry stone wall. The jewelry looks a bit like a section of wall....
...at least it does to me!
