Sunny sunny sunny! Beautiful blue sky with a few clouds about. The river is still very high here but at least the snow is nearly all gone - still more upstream though so it's still rising.

Flood warning information :
F L O O D W A T C H

This statement was prepared on 16 February 2009 at 2:52 pm.

Quote:
A FLOOD WATCH has been issued for Don, Banff and Buchan Rivers.

River levels are slowly rising as a result of snowmelt due to milder weather conditions. Temperatures will remain mild for at least the next 24 hours and river levels are expected to continue to rise steadily. This may result in localised flooding problems in this area.

Surface runoff has caused some flooding of roads around Huntly.

This FLOOD WATCH is now in force until further notice.

Please continue to keep an eye on the situation in your area and listen to local radio and television for further information

Just heard that our road is quite badly affected - I don't think I'll be going anywhere today.
Diana

It's very mild here

Yeah, fair bit of water around this morning. Amazing that so much snow has melted pretty much overnight.

Was up on Ben Rinnes at the weekend and the snow in some sections was up over our knees by a good few inches. Would imagine some of that is still kicking about though, can't imagine it would go as quickly.

It feels like spring out there - warm sunshine, oystercatchers have arrived too. I've just been watching a dipper on the river.

It's lovely here in Clola too.  Had to take my coat off out there this morning.  Our snow has been melting over a few days so a bit of water lying in the usual places which is keeping the ducks very happy, otherwise great.

warm outside....although windy and a black cloud looming over head....we had tons of snow left yesterday....got up this morning to find one patch of snow under the kitchen window..and that was it...all gone! but goats are happy...they have finally go to go outside for a bit! ducks can now find the duck pond...and chickens have now moved away from their hen houses

I discovered a mini-max thermometer when I was locking up the chooks - it had been almost 15 degree C here today! No wonder Pete and myself were feeling the heat this morning when he was showing me the chores - we were both in t-shirts after a little while! And you could sit outside and literally watch the snow melt.
