Tuesday 10th Feb

We had a dusting of new snow last night, and i am begining to wonder if we are in an Ice age!!
Barn door is frozen solid...I cant get to the goats....I cant push or pull that hard because of my back...and i did hurt it just now...trying my best to get in and feed the goats....but it just wont budge!....Rita is calling for her feed...and i can do nothing but wait till the door defrosts itself or Matt gets home!

Its crazy isnt it! proper winters!

I finally managed to get out yesterday after the farmer snowploughed  our track, but its still only just do-able: I still cant get back up the track only down so the car is a mile plus down the hill: anything I want up here I have to carry up myself!
I hope the barn door improves: ours will open most of the way tho not all the way....

Everything still solid here too - J should have been at school today as they attempted the transport (and reached destination I believe) but he's coughing and spluttering everywhere and not really fit to go.

I'm climbing the walls here though as I really want to go out for a good walk with my camera and can't go anywhere.

Our drive and single track was solid ice, but I managed to get out okay, albeit at a very slow pace (more so I could stop in time rather than not being able to go quickly IYKWIM).

Main roads are fine, not a problem.

I guess the snow is one of the main reasons for having one of those stable door types that split in half, at least you could still lean in over to feed them (or jump in if you had to).

well thankfully the sun warmed the metal barn door!! so i got in....much to Rita's delight!!
Now the dog wants to go and play out there!! Animals eh?! who would have them!

SNOWING thick and fast here!! and by the looks of things its here for the night!!
Sassinak

Yup snowing like crazy here. Over half an inch in 20 minutes.

Right, that's it, next time snow's forecast I'm decamping to Kimmie's!

We do have snow here - 3-4" laying, drifts to knee-height. It pretty much stops by the time you get to Brechin (5 miles south) and Montrose has none.
Maria

Snow here - and hail too    On the up side, it's extra crunchy underfoot.

still got plenty of snow lying here - the road is much clearer thanks to the efforts of the gritters today - I hope it doesn't snow here because I would like J to go to school tomorrow

Yup, road here seemed a bit clearer on the way home, but it's been snowing fairly heavily since we got home. If it carries on like this I can see it being an issue tomorrow again.

Makes it worse, 'cos I was planning on seeing Master in Aberdeen tomorrow night (mates are promoting the gig) and was hoping the sis in law was going to look after the kids... not sure any of us will make it out tomorrow (or if the SiL will make it out either).
Nix

Snowing quite heavily in Turriff,
at least a few inches in the last 2 hours.
Lemonysnicket
