today i welded my exhaust:oops: what a job, it had sheared at a connection at the front, so i cut out the clamp, and put a piece of pipe inside and welded it, a great job done, but then as i was moving the silencer around, the pipe crumbled off the silencer so had to take it off again and put another bit of pipe in there and welded that, then the nut for the clamp to hold the silencer to the mountings sheared off so had to drill a nother hole and put a nut and bolt on, so what started as one small weld ended up as about 8 pounds of weld  the good news is though its done now and given me a few months to save up for a new exhaust, incidently if anyone ever comes across any ldv piolts that are just sitting or ready for scrap, then please let me know, theres a few little bits ill need for its next mot, and im always wanting parts, i intend on keeping this van on the road indefinately i think, , its got such a good chassis, and engine and that

Is the backbox itself knackered or just the pipework connecting it all?
Not sure on what kind of pipework or fittings your exhaust uses but if you can use an old (as in came off a 2006) backbox from my STi you are welcome to it. It's not a stainless steel one but should hopefully still be okay-ish (been wrapped in plastic since it was removed a few months back and kept in the house before being chucked in the shed).

I'll try and get a look at the exhaust and see if it's still okay, can't imagine it'd be any worse than if it was still on the car. Plenty of space in the new shed though so it's not in the road.
