Yeah, far too much to be heading to Stirling at 6am.
Just watching the delivery vans skitting along the road put me off.

Few inches in Turriff and so far the roads are mad, cars sliding all over.

Loads of the white stuff here too - no school today!

Phil crossed the yard to the car at 6am. Changed his mind and came back inside. There is absolutely no trace of his passing. It's still falling very fast as well

Just spotted this on the school closures site and it made me chuckle (shame for the children that are missing out on there trip though)

I thought it was ironic too! Snow is now about 7 inches deep here, more in the drifts. Horses not going to be able to be turned out today, so are peering out their top doors and getting wet faces instead!
Poor Taggie Terrier had to run up and down virtually buried in order to make a hollow to have a wee etc in!
It does mean we are seeing much more of our adopted feral farm cats tho, strange how friendly they get when conditions are like this
Basically I am snowed in as the snow on the track is over a foot deep! wonder if the sheep will make it here this weekend!

It was relatively fine when we left Banchory this morning, an then the snow dumped on Aberdeen just as we arrived in Rush hour traffice nad has continued for the past hour and a bit I love it, but I know we have to drive ome through so shouldn't be too gleeful yet.

Aye, chucking it down here... TBH it's not deep enough here to really cause a problem IMO, it's the fact that (according to the radio) it sounds like every road between me and work, is clogged with trucks, etc blocking the roads or just huge long queues.
As I can work remotely, there's not much point in me sitting in traffic for hours just so I can work in the office. Plus the school is shut as well, so someone needs to be here to look after the kids (although I dunno if the wife is going to go into work today either).

No-one managed to get to school/college from here today. Looks like I will have to go out and play snowballs/build a snowman with the kids....shame ain't it

Fair bit of snow here too. I nervously drove into work, and as I pulled up my phone rang to tell me not to bother.
So I turned round and drove home again, and made it, I'm not used to driving in the snow, so I was chuffed that when I got stuck in our drive, I managed to get going again- its quite a steep hill, the car is now abandoned in the yard and I won't be moving it again today!

I don't mind driving in snow, as long as I'm not sitting in a queue (IYKWIM)... mind you I'm the same regardless of the weather
Only ever been stuck with a car once in snow... that was when the road hadn't been cleared at all, and heavy lorries, etc had been using it... came round a corner and the centre of the road had iced up... bottom of the car slid up the icy mound and I was beached... all four wheels sitting spinning in the air
Luckily for me I was about 200yrds away from home at the time, so a quick call to the farmer up the road and he came and towed me the last wee bit
'tis just a pity that the Disco we've got is SORN'd (and not MOT'd) otherwise it'd have been fine to go for a play in it mind you... although there is air in the tyres... unfortunately it's all at the top of the tyres and not the bottom where you need it

sounds like my smartie
Only ever been stuck in the snow, once as well....long time ago, down in Caversfield, just outside Bicester.....turned a corner at a junction going downhill, car just slid.................straight into a snow drift and burried my renault 4 so deep...i had to get out of the boot! wish i had my camera back then....would of made a brilliant photo but then ..... maybe its best that i didnt

We've a good foot and a bit of snow here (not inc drifts) and our road is now blocked. I made it to work this morning (very nervously as main road wasn't ploughed and about a foot deep) and then got sent home. Hurrah! Its still snowing too
Keith is supposed to have it very badly though according to radio. Must phone daughter :S

heard on the radio that the A96 is pretty much blocked at the moment (with some stupid people trying to reverse along it too).
Not worth going anywhere today by the looks of it, even if you have a vehicle that can cope with it, 'cos you'll just get stuck behind people who can't handle it.

Yes its closed from Inverurie to Keith and there was also an accident at the dairy just before the Tyrebagger heading into town too so imagine thats fairly snarled up.

It snowed all day yesterday here. Himself measured the snow last night - 6in deep.
It continued to snow all night - snow now 16in deep.
The Boxer dog waded out to have a wee, but the bitch wouldn't go out - I had to carry her out to the field...
The cows have just been for a wander - can't really see their legs. They seem to be tossing the snow with their horns. After we'd fed them a few cattle rows, they headed back in-doors.
Think we'll do likewise.

Its just stopped snowing here...but there is a huge black cloud looming!
Local farmer just walked up our lane, said he didnt want to risk the 4x4 down it if he is worried about his 4x4 on the lane...how on earth is matty going to get down it in his corsa, when he gets home from work???

Yeah, seems to have stopped here too and looks like it's brightening up. At least he's only got to get down it and not UP it... it's probably the going back up again that the farmer was worried about.

Your all really lucky up there... we have no snow at all down here

we've got a fairly respectable covering of snow, could get the car out if we wanted to as the gritters have been along. Dog was thrilled that it has snowed again - it's the first year she has seen snow and loved it. Our only problem was getting up to a power cut, house was really cold and all I wanted was a hot cuppa, power back on now so fingers crossed.

It is thawing unbelievably rapidly here.
Dogs footprints from an hour ago already have expanded to the size of a bear's paw lol

It's not melting fast here either. Just been out building a snowman

The kids started to build a snowman outside earlier but got kinda cold after a bit so came back inside... they've not been back out since... due to the snow not rolling that well either, they'd rolled so much of it, then just packed it up around and on top of it... so we have a slightly phallic looking object in the garden now

The snow strted at Kinloss around 0300 and flurried for around 3 hours...unfortunately being at work at the time I witnessed it all
Then having to dig my car back out and creep back home 7 miles along the mostly covered main A96!

I tried to get in this morning but saw an accident in Ellon 2 car in front and then got stuck in traffic in Foveran and a police car came past so i reckoned another accident ahead, gave up and came home. Told the boss I'd take a half day, did 4 hrs work and then spent the rest of the day grouting the bathroom!
Im planning on going ski-ing tomorrow in cairngorm though assuming the roads are ok, there be laods of fresh snow there! even some scottish powder ski-ing!

Certainly loads of the snow here, and with temperatures now forecast to dip to -8C it should still be here in the morning
I went for a lovely walk up the hill at the back of us this afternoon. Didn't get very far but took some photos of some gorgeous snow drifts.

Was melting really quickly here but now appears to be freezing.
