Snowing heavily. OK ENOUGH WITH THE SNOW ALREADY!
wildgarlic

Snowing here too - hope they don't close J's school. Set to enjoy an incredibly rare event at the moment - ie D is off school for one day when J isn't. WOW.
wildgarlic

Scratch that - our one day in the year when D's hols don't coincide with J's and school is closed.
monkey nuts

It is snowing here too.

A has set off for his school in Dyce but little S is off school as her taxi can't get through. Thank goodness we have a 4x4, big S has got to college and we need to get into Aberdeen later today for an appointment.
Maria

Snow here too.

Primary closed and secondary closed to school transport. Running out of fun snow play ideas...seems to feel colder each time we think of something! Yesterday it was a group of penguin sculptures.   Girls a bit glum. They want to see all their school pals. Looks like they'll have to wait till after the hols now.
PurpleDragon

Bucketing it down with snow here again. I am so over this snow. We have the kids on half term now till Thursday, so I guess at least I'm not checking the website every day.
kimmie

Yep constant snow here too  Cant get car up the land so matt walked into the villiage again at 6am to try and get a lift! means he wont be home till gone 8pm again
jaydee67

Snow here again too. Photos in the winter thread in the photography forum.

All Shetland schools are closed, came down really heavy after 5am, went from fairly clear roads to no roads. Council are buying 7 trailers of salt from Orkney as we are running out and the company can't say when the order from 2 weeks ago will be filled. Apparently they've had an unexpected demand for salt this year! Means only main roads are being salted now, side roads are ploughed and may be gritted.

Been snowing in Aberdeen city all morning varying between light and middling snow. not lying on the roads here guess that's because it's been getting slightly warmer over the past few days. wait and see if it lasts. Anyone know what it's like out Banchory way?
Diana

Big snow here too.   Appologies to all concerned, but I'll never be over the snow!!!

Couldn't get the Landie backed up the drive when I got back from Brechin this morning.
IainC

Yup, snowing here too but the roads are fine... bl00dy skiving bus drivers not running again though so we had to run our daughter to school. Even our single track isn't THAT bad. The wifes FWD car manages it fine.
dizzyblond

snowing heavily here too - no sign of letting up x

Stay safe everyonex
Sassinak

It does a great job of tidying the garden for me. It looks lovely haha

Smooth Hound

im completely snowed in again
lachlanandmarcus

Snowing all day AGAIN, car is parked down track so hopefully if walked mile in a blizzard I would reach the car and then be able to get out.  not going to try it! Supposed to have a choir rehearsal this evening but if it stays like this I am going to miss second one in a row.....

The snow on the windows is starting to melt tho so I can only hope it turns to rain....

The horses are going stir crazy, they enjoyed themselves out in the field yesterday but are in today, thank goodness their stables are generous sizes (18x12 for the monster and 12x12 for the pony).

Our joiners came to finish off this morning but have just left at speed so either they have finished or are getting out while they still can!
kimmie

no sign of let up here too......same here....i love the stuff too much ... but sorry to others, i know some of you are fed up with it now.
Cat went out of the window earlier and disapeared in a drift could only see her ears! she didnt stay out long after that!
Nix

It has snowed all morning in Turriff but seems quite wet snow and really isn't achieving very much so far.
IainC

Yeah, it's not lying here in Dyce at all... supposedly set to stop around 2pm-ish (according to the TV this morning) and then it should stay dry, etc... we'll see

Been snowing all morning but main roads fine. Its not settling at all in Banchory so you're ok.
baldowrie

Opened the door at 6.30am this morning and it was trying to snow by 7am we had a couple of inches and it has been snowing ever since.  I took 8 inches off the greenhouse and hour a go and it is still snow.
Ina

Has anybody noticed yet that the date in the heading of the post is wrong?

Sass has said it already - snow, snow, snow. At least it's a bit warmer - my drains have unfrosted, so  could get a wash without having to bail out the water afterwards!

I'm getting worried about next Monday - if it doesn't improve soon, all my plans will be scuppered.
wildgarlic

Oh yes! I'll change it.

Snow is easing here, in fact it has virtually stopped. Everything is dripping here and my icicles are starting to break up so I guess it's a bit of a thaw.
baldowrie

Oh yes, as if my recent 'activities' haven't left me confused enough
Nix

Snow has stopped and a definite thaw is starting.
Just back from town and the streets are slushy now
rather than hard packed snow like yesterday.
IainC

Yeah, the school shut today around lunchtime, yet about an hour or so later the snow stopped and the roads have remained fine all day.
lor138

Yup, all melty here since lunchtime.
kimmie

not melting here but the snow stopped about 2pm-ish ...although the look of the black cloud all around me say's it might start again!

mum rang to say its snowing in Brackley!!

Ooops what had I put? I hadn't had coffee thats my excuse
baldowrie

didn't stop here until 4pm but looks like it may start again at any time
PurpleDragon

Ours stopped around lunchtime and didn't snow again. We have had a lot of dripping but it will take a while for this lot to go!

Saw midges outside my window!

We were sitting in the house and heard a huge rumble around 6-7pm... that was most of the snow on the roof coming down in a oner. Took one part of our roan pipe off as well, luckily just popped it out of it's holders. Unlike next door, where it actually ripped it all off their wall.

Another lucky thing was not parking the wifes car where it normally goes, 'cos some of the stuff that came down was solid ice and may have made a dent or two on the car had it been parked there.
Sassinak

It has broken the brackets holding the guttering in a couple of places here. I think we might have to look for an alternative to the plastic ones that we have at present.
