the old bangerI can't open the drivers door of my car from the inside, can someone point me in the direction of being able to repair it please

Is it the handle (too stiff or too lose) or the lock (won't turn or turns without contact)?
Also, what car you got? Is it central locking?

maybe you could put a duplicate post up in the Garage....IainC and misteralz tend to be in there and I am sure one of them would be able to help...it maybe something as simple as the door dropping....if thats the case you just need to adjust the door screws....but more info would help

No the handle is neither (as it's always been) and you can hear it click like the others BUT it doesn't release the catch.
It's central locking and I have a Mitsubishi Shogun Pinin.
I have had a problem with the boot but the garage said they believe someone tried to open that with it lock and jammed the handle...it's ok now.
I have put WD40 on the locks and catches, but so far no difference. It was fine yesterday.

Sounds very similar to the catch on one of the doors of the disco (from time to time). Probably either a dodgy cable to the interior handle or grit/grime in the inside of the door.
Would imagine it should be fairly easy to pop off the inside cover of the door which should let you see how it all works. Would then allow you to try it again to see if it's the cable that's at fault or if the handle itself has become damaged (allowing the cable to move and not be pulled tight enough to open the catch).

Most of them will, not sure about the mini shogun but most are only popped on, few are screwed on.
Have a look about the door itself, there maybe screws in the handle to pull the door shut that may need removed first.

ok will have a go tomorrow.
I had problem with the boot but the garage felt that it was due to someone trying to access my car whilst it was locked...this has not helped this!
