The Devenick Dairy - Banchory Devenick

At the taste of Grampian event, there was a stand selling local cheese (at early stages), yoghurt and cream cheese. We got the one with chives and it was wonderful!
The details are as follows-
R&N Groat, The Devenick Dairy, Banchory Devenick, AB12 4RS. www.devenickdairy.co.uk
Highly recommended.

Thanks for that, Pauline! I'll have to find out where to get it - I love trying local cheeses etc.

I e-mailed these people on Wednesday to find out where they sell their products - needless to say, they've not got back to me (I really hate that - why do they have a contact e-mail on their website if they don't reply to their e-mails? A lot of companies do that...)

Anyway, the same evening I found out that the farmshop in Fourdon (on the A90) sells their cheeses and yoghurts. And the "Deesider" is really nice...

I also emailed them and they didn't get back to me either.

Probably too busy making the cheese to think about selling it!

Got a reply!

They're at local farmer's markets (Stonehaven, Huntly, Forfar, Banchory & Inverurie), can sell direct to the public from the farm (but not milk) and are happy to let people know where their nearest local outlet is.

We just missed them on Saturday

Pauline very kindly bought us a packet of their soft cheese with chives and it was very delicious - full of fresh zingy flavour and a great texture too.

If they're going to be at the farmers market at Inverurie, hopefully can get more there.

If I'm free for the next one, can pick up some for others, if timing fits in with forthcoming meets, etc.
Will post here once I know.
Cheers
P

More info.

They supply the farm shop at Fourdon or even the Finzean farm shop nearer Banchory.

Will be at Banchory Farmers Market this weekend.

Also, they are open from 8.15am to 5pm but we are always there (part from Saturday mornings).

They did reply to me, too - and I told them I got the recommendation from NEEPS and sent them the link... So if they are clever, they'll get on here and post a complete list of shops, which they are in the process of compiling.
