Tamus Communis - beware!

I gather this is far more prevalent in the south, but I've just posted this another board, and thought it worth repeating here!
"better known (confusingly) as Black Bryony - if you're out round the hedgerows in the next week or three blackberrying, or particularly if gathering Rosehips, be exceptionally careful - I have never seen such amazing growths of Black Briony which is highly toxic (picture below) - I've found great ribbons of the beautiful looking berries in the same hedgerows as the other two - they're about the same size and colour as big redcurrants and look very edible, but don't! - keep the kids away too, at best it's a bellyache job, but could easily be fatal

Thanks Martin - I've not seen any up here but that doesn't mean to say that they are not about.
