Sustainable Communtities ActI found out about this act in Sustained Magazine, the act needs to be acted on by each council before the end of July, (or it's too late). The act means that communties can be involved in more decisions on all levels re their community. I passed this on to my local Councillor who hadn't heard of it and is now pushing it forward in Aberdeenshire council.www.localworks.org has a lot of info, they are campaigning for this and you can join, be kept up-to-date and get involved. There's also info via www.foodmatters.org And there's info in www.channel4.com/landshare which has now gone live. The info is several posts down in the blog section. Beth |

Sustainable Communities ActSpoke to Daniel Flanagan from www.localworks.org he says that Wales has chosen not to accept act as would withdraw power from the Assembly but that Scotland could easily use the act. We just need to campaign, we've until July 31st. The act is in resources via the Local works site, it's only two pages and very readable. It would seriously improve communities power to be sustainable.Beth |

Apols Beth - haven't had chance to read anything on this. Erm, think my 'Survivors' marathon watch has a lot to answer for. 
Do you know if there is 'anything' at all like the 'sustain comms act' currently in force in Scotland? |

I still haven't had reply back from the scottish executive about 'emergency plans' for oil depletion scenarios.
I'll keep trying and will also get in touch with my local MSP and see what she has to say about it. Will keep you posted. Gusinthesun!
