Strike a pose, there's nothing to it...

...Vogue, vogue, vogue, etc.
'twas a lovely evening here so I took advantage of the light and finally clicked off some shots of my lovely new Range Rover. Enjoy.

And no, I'll probably never wash it.
Smooth Hound

nice vehicle, what engine does it have
IainC

2.5 diesel from what I can see
Smooth Hound

Yup...

or http://tinyurl.com/a9n9jm if the above link splits.

All you need to do is whack in the reg number and the make and it tells you that he needs to buy road tax for it at the end of January/start of Feb next year

Of course, it might be that he's swapped the 2.5 for a nice 3.5/3.9/4.2 V8 instead and just not notified the DVLA yet (in which case I can flog you my old Disco and you can whip out the V8 and lpg kit for spares).

misteralz

Neither does my S3 or mk2 VR6, Sas. Nah Iain, it started life as a 3.9 V8 and has had a 300TDi and a 5 speed dropped in it. 40mpg and reasonable acceleration does me just fine, although I would quite like a V8 one, just to see what they're like...
Smooth Hound

good engines
lachlanandmarcus

Its just like our Rangey, snap!! ours is J reg tho and IS a diesel, a VM (boat engine!), but its the same colour!
Diana

How you getting 40MPH out of a 300TDI and can you make mine do that?
lachlanandmarcus

we get nearly that out of the diesel VM one we have so wouldnt be surprised...they are much better on fuel than peeps think (considering they are such tanks, I ve had smaller and more modern cars that have been worse than the Rangey by far). Even our 110 Landy does upwards of 35mpg, and neither are modified at all.
Diana

Will have to work mine out properly - have been too scared of what I might find to do the sums. 4.5 litres to the gallon?
IainC

4.54 is a bit more accurate.

Fill the tank, reset the trip meter, drive until you need to fill again, then only count the cost it takes to brim it again and work out how much it's cost you to do the amount of miles on the trip meter.

Should give you a fairly accurate mpg figure.

Was quite surprised by that amount of mpg though... had heard various stories of mid 20's to early 30's from a 110 TDi or TD5.
Diana

Thanks Iain. I did know the method was just checking the conversion.

Yes I was surprised too. Will let you know mine once it's checked (might be a couple of weeks though as I don't drive much).
IainC

Was just in case you were going to use the tank size as your calculation (ie you did 300 miles and you have a 75l tank), 'cos it's very rare that anyone ever runs the vehicle that low on fuel to use it all up as they get into the garage (although it's felt close a couple of times )
