StrawBale builder near FOGGIE Aberchirder seeks strawbales!!Nice to see all the welcoming messages on the forum. I am a latecomer to this but hopefully won't make too many embarrassing mistakes.
Not quite sure who everyone is yet, bar a couple, but some I am sure are new friends from the permaculture weekend at Drummuir on March 14 and 15th.
A small strawbale Off-the -grid dwelling which I got planning permission for back in July 2006 will soon start building and so I'm now looking for small straw bales locally and have a few supplier options. NEEPs may turn out a good way to buy local and organic if possible. If you don't ask...
By the way I am keen and available to teach courses in permaculture and so anybody interested in learning more do let me know here or by the email I check almost daily jonny_barton2001@yahoo.com
Looking forward to reading more about fellow NEEPs...

If you don't ask you don't get
Very interesting in having a permaculture course for the Neepsters - it would be good to meet up with you sometime to discuss options. Perhaps you could come to one of our food co-op meet ups (generally once a month - shall I add you to the food co-op usergroup?)

So glad you've jumped in - very doubt you'll manage anything more embarrasing than some of my posts Yes some of the drummuir perma friends are neeps now too (rod, roma, jane and kim so far )
A Neeps permaculture course would be fantastic - and something that at least 4 or 5 neeps have showed and interest in here http://neeps.myfreeforum.org/about6306.html There's also a permaculture thread on the board now. Feel free to post any good sources etc here if you have a spare min or two!
Will start asking around re straw bales - not sure I'll get any more info than you already have, but hey who knows, the more folk asking the more chance you'll get something close to home. If anyone else is listening please could you ask around too? As I mentioned on the course, I'd love to help out with the build. You're something of a trailblazer gettting the consent for the very 1st strawbale in the shire. Congrats and well done!!!! Oh, might also be worth you having a mooch around the 'green building' thread for local info and resources?

I would be happy to pitch in with a bit of unskilled labour on the construction too! would like to learn how to do it as altho our house is a renovation not a build I would like to build some byres for the livestock from bales.
