I went to Mad Maria's today and did a wee bit of spinning!!!! It was brilliant, I'm not as co-ordinated as her, she's brilliant!!! She seemed so serene spinning in front of a cosy fire.

I just wanted to share this wonderful thing!

I'm never ever photogenic - I promise you. I usually look as though I'm gurning...perhaps because I talk too much? WG is a genius photo lady.

If I knew how, I'd use it as my avatar (is that what it's called?)....now what's the name of that 'shrink it' website ZC told me about at the craft night. Pays to have a notebook when your memory's as bad as mine.

Almost filled another bobbin and time to make 2ply....wooo-hooo. You were great FMN. Our learning threads will make a fabulous finished wool; lovely yet rather quirky.

Time to make a Niddy Noddy I think.

Not sure if this is the right place, but a friend came over last night and got my spinning wheel going

I'm a happy bunny. However the reason I couldn't get it going is cos the bobbin it had was too big and was actually pushing yarn off because its bigger that the whorl (I think those are the right terms

)

I need to buy a new bobbin that has the right size drive band bitty. Can anyone point me in the best direction? should I just look on the web, is there a local supplier, does anyone have a recommendation?

What make of wheel is it , can you put a piccy of it in . I may be able to help.

It's an upright Shetland wheel (I think) it's got a makers sticker on the bottom, forgotten his name, but I think it was made by a woodturner or the like, not a company.
