Sounds interesting. What kinda Transit? I'm assuming that since you've mentioned a 6 pot and a new front in the same breath, that it's a mk1? Is so, we need pics!
Smooth Hound

no its a 190 lwb hightop , with some windows in the side   its l reg. your guess would be right about the mk 1 normally, but im not normal

the engine  is too big, but we are losing the airconditioning and all that rubbish, and having to cut some of the bulk head out, the front has too be moved forward a cuple of inches too, the lights off the bmw are being grafted on the front . ill be honest, this is a first for me, and im just the spanner passer. but i couldnt see my van going for scrsp, so ive donated it, and i get lots of mechanical help etc, and learn a bit 2.
Smooth Hound

i think i get a share in the profit apparently, but i wont rely on that,

and its green honest.  the engine that has come out, which im keeping was a 76 hp    and did about 25 to the gallon, with the new engine driven sensibly it wont even realise its running and will do 40 odd to the gallon.

Of course it's green. Reduce, re-use, recycle... My GTI will do 150mph now, but it'll also do 50mpg easily.

300bhp+ transit... that'll be fun on the bends

I'm also going to be increasing the BHP of my car (but keeping the same engine). Have already done some "light-right-foot" tests to see what I've managed to get mpg-wise and will try again after the work to see if it's made any difference to it (along with the extra bhp )

Most other folk that have done it are seeing a couple of mpg more out of their cars without changing their driving style so I'm hoping for much the same.

yea , it doesnt bear thinking of does it,     the guys got a capri, with a cosworth v6 engine, chipped for 400 bhp, oh and its four wheel drive and highered, im going to get some pics,

At least its AWD, the 2.8i capris were bad enough with the 160 or whatever they came with

Always worth seeing a dyno print of a high bhp car, surprising how in some cases they are a lot worse than lower powered motors unless right at the top of the rev range. My old scoob was like that, HUGE turbo on it so it was like having two engines... a small lethargic one up to about 3500rpm and then switching on a second really powerful one. The new car has similar power but so much more torque so feels a lot quicker and more powerful.
