Seed Potatoes

Just wanted to let you all know, I was in my local garden centre...Dobbies, yesterday and they had a bucket full of seed potatoes all different varieties reduced down to 50p for 12 tubers, an absolute bargin..

I'm going walk back round there today and pick up some more... too good an opportunity to miss

good to know. the B&Q in Aberdeen didn't have any and the man said they were really hard to get right now (maybe just an excuse). We got some from the happy plant centre in Mintlaw, paid 2.50 for about 50 but all one variety, would of preferred mixed

I bought a bargain bag of main crop seed tatties last week. I'm only in my second year of gardening and am loath to plant them in case of frost, as it says wait till frosts are over. June I reckon

I have dug the patch and added my first compost and well some rotted horse manure. It seems a shame to not pop them in the ground where they belong...

In retrospect probably should have got early tatties instead.
What do you think?

The tatties will be fine in the ground.

Frost damages the leaf growth - not a problem at the mo as there won't be any leaf yet.

Stick 'em in...

Agreed. And if the shoots do start to show, just earth them up a bit before we get another frost.

Thanks very much - when it stops raining I'll pop 'em in
