I have been told to save energy, ok I switch off my tv and vidio now and do not leave them on stand by. I do not leave my mobile on charge. I have changed all my lamps in the house to energy efficiant ones, even though the shades look queer now. I baught a compost bin and put allsorts in. ect. ect. so why without sounding too much like baa humbug do the town and councils burn all we have saved in plastering all the towns in christmas lights, more and more every year. I just woundered. :?

I wouldn't mind so much if they only had the lights up/on over the period but Dyce still had the xmas lights on the street lights lit up most of the way thru' January (possibly still are... not paid attention to them recently).
