Sage program

Can you buy the sage program for home? I need to get myself up to speed with it as I have not used it for quite a while.

Is it particularly Sage you are interested in, or accounting programs in general?  And, is it for home use (ie, to do home 'accounts') or for business use?

I haven't used sage (I prefer the control I get with Excel), but there doesn't appear to be a home version of it available if their UK website is anything to go by.  They do have a version that you can download and use for free, but it appears to be geared to invoicing.

Might be worth a look -  http://www.sage.co.uk or http://shop.sage.co.uk

There are also various types of Sage programs (think of them in the way you think of Microsoft... they do a few types, all geared to Accounting stuff).

You get MMS and then things like Line100 and Line200, etc.

Problem you might have, is if it's to learn for your work, that the version they use might be running on an SQL server, which means it's unlikely you could be running this at home (without spending a fortune, or running dodgy illegal software on old equipment).

If it's for your work, then they might be able to set you up with a fake company database on their system for you to "play" with to train yourself up on.

It is for me to learn with as my job ends on the 26 th of the month it was a temp job so I knew it would end. I would like to get in to accounts so I hope to teach my self the basics so I can get in to that sector.

What about doing a course from home... might give you more than just playing about with it IYKWIM?

Just one of the links I found with stuff about it, would also give you some kind of qualification in it which would probably help with getting the foot in the door.

Am guessing that without any accounts experience or qualification that it'd be hard to get to the interview, and even if you do already have the experience or qualification, a recent qualification to do with the software, etc is good to have (extra for your cv )
