Pottery Stuff

For anybody interested, www.potfest.co.uk is a brilliant site with details of these festivals, next one end of May in Crieff. Loads of pics, links etc etc.

Also www.scottishpotters.co.uk I've just met via email the Chair as turns out she's friends with my cousin. She's sending me some newsletter stuff and says have a look at the site, workshop happening end of March if anyone interested.

I used to do pottery in school and still have one piece I made. The others got broken over the years.

The piece I still have was darned ugly when I made it, but is now quite fashionable. A SIL of mine wanted to know where I had bought it.

Personally, I love it, but then I'm biased!

I would love to get back into it, but who can afford all the stuff that you need?

I'd got as far as seeing Kildragon or a name similar (Memory  )

Was planning to find out where that is. Crieff is where the Potfest is at the end of May. Dates written down somewhere last week I think. I want to go SO BADLY!!!! Am going to have to arrange something. Re kids, travel, accomodation. I want to look at the workshop details too.

Re classes around here, mine is in Inverurie and I'm sure Gers said there's one held at Whitehills... further north????

Mine is run by Ab'shire community learning. Site I think linked to either Ab'shire council site or .... is it banff and buchan college?????? Re community lkinks. Mine is £50/60 a term depending on how many weeks. No equipment needed unless you like me you've wanted to do it for years and start getting hold of as much stuff as you can for yourself.

I've been really lucky. Having bought a tool pack and a couple of books, my mother bought me a magazine subscription for early early b'day pressie then got talking to cousin in Aberdeen via bumping into him in Freecycle, he know's Fran re info above. She knew potters selling off stuff in St Andrews and so I've a box of tools etc being brought up from St Andrews on Monday by her, for the price of a very reasonable donation to the charity they support. Now arranging to meet her as she's in Arbroath but comes North regularly. As Maria said, Serendipity, I'm really chuffed!!!!

Wow, I didn't know Banff and Buchan do it. I shall look into that next year. This year I have too many commitments to think of adding another!

I want to finish my Reiki II certification, I am doing courses on both aromatherapy and Kabbalah, I am going to be training to become a gymnastics coach and I am really getting deeper into yoga. I was looking yesterday at starting a course on the Yoga Sutras. One more thing and I think I will have spread myself so thin that I will be transparent! LOL

Wow I love Reiki, did my level 1 about 2 years ago but haven't really done any, except us and the pets on occasion. I love Aromatherapy too, I wanted to do it after I did Reflexology but had to do body massage first and that wasn't for me.

In this course, I don't have to do massage. It is literally just theory.

It is actually a pretty rubbish course and I don't think much of it, but since I paid the fees, I am determined to get the certificate I wouldn't assume knowledge enough to actually administer aromatherapy to anyone based on what I have learned on this course though!

I think it is a good foundation for when I go to college properly in August but that's about it.
