Wellies I hadn't thought of them lol !!! Seriously though, I have to make them really stiff to take the weight of the glass and mirror, so they'd be very uncomfortable to wear. I've got an idea for the other one of this pair, something totally different this time

How long did they take you?
How did you do it....lots of glue?
Do you think they'll stay on and be waterproof?

Hi Maria, I don't even count the hours when I make these things because I know it'd probably work out at that I only make 20p an hour when I do them lol ...but a lot of hours.
It wouldn't be possible to revamp a pair of Dr Martens like this and then carry on wearing them to be honest, that's why I only did one. They have to be stiffened so much you wouldn't believe, because glass is so heavy. It'd be like trying to walk in ski boots your foot wouldn't be able to bend lol.
I think that's answered your questions without giving away any trade secrets lol.

My very first pair were purple snakeskin <3 I miss them so. Then I went cherry, then black, then black and now I have these odd newish docs. They're really soft leather with pink tartan inside - I had to wait a YEAR for them to come back into stock, couldn't even ship them from America.
point? Docs are the best.

Yeah they do last for ages, I've been trying to find some at a reasonable price because hopefully the next type I do will be wearable. Doesn't look like I've got much of a chance of getting any at a reasonable price
