nanoparticles (who told you they were safe?!)

Just another problem waiting to unfold!

Isn't the risk of skin absorption something you'd assume to be there for anything you slap on your skin in copious amounts??! Nanoparticles also known as chemicals, is just a word to try create fear and hysteria it's a big word it must be bad!

Your skin is a massive porous organ anything you put on it can be absorbed into your system so yes there is more than likely a risk from sunscreen as there is from cosmetics, except sunscreen goes on a larger area and hence has a higher potential...

Grr It's another syntheseised chemcials bad, natural chemcials good discussion that makes me so irate because there are so many natural chemcails that are toxic but deemed 'safe' becasue they're naturally occurring.

Plaster anything all over you and there's a risk.

Sorry rant over

I love stories like these...its just a short jump from nano-particles to nano-bots, tiny robots remaking everything on an atomic level...ooohhh scary....

....or swine flu converting us all in to zombies and there are just a few humans left with big guns trying to survive...and some of the lasses look good in tight leather...

....or special army robots that can refuel in the field becoming self aware and turning their guns on humans who can only survive by shooting big guns...

life is like film...which part do you want to play?

from the above site you can download for free 'The Little Big Down' - a short and simple intro to nanotech - they also have 'The Big Down' - goes into more detail.

Back in 2005 I went to a couple of workshops at Earth First gatherings about nanotech and the companies behind it - they gave us the above as handouts - I do remember getting my head round it at the time so thought anyone interested might find them useful - so long ago now and - all a bit to complex for me  - I have to confess I remember very little about it and would have to start at the very beginning!  It was enough for me to avoid products with nanoparticles and still do.
