That was a cold one.....   Amazingly beautiful night though, the sky was amazing!

Cloudy out one window this morning, clear out the other
monkey nuts

It sure was cold last night and again this morning. The bedroom was so light because of the snow I couldn't sleep. No school transport for us today, the roads around here are lethal
Lemonysnicket

I hope you don't have to go out?

My friends just reported -16 in Insch at 7.07 this morning. 70 schools closed due to icy roads too. I'll stick to my ski's!!

matty is stuck on the drive at the moment...he keeps trying to get his car moving...his car is reading -12 we know its dropping as it was -9 when he tried to get the car moving earlier today!!
lachlanandmarcus

very cold but beautiful night last night. still snowed in tho! snow thigh deep in places, just hoping todays predicted storm misses us!
wildgarlic

D finally managed to get the landrover started - his school isn't closed today. I want to go out somewhere but can't.
pete_inthehills

Also still snowed in - no bucket man last week and we haven't seen the postie since Wednesday.  Good job I have a full pantry - AND I HAVE GOT PLENTY OF EGGS TO EAT !!!!!
kimmie

yep its cold...temp is dropping...now -14 here...and we walked around the paddock it felt like it...especially when i brushed the ice that had formed out of my hair!!

Yeah, into minus double figures here too (or was when I was out in it).

Tried getting the car out of the drive but with the ice there was just no traction at all. Came back in and remoted into work instead, nipped back out there now and managed to get the car free'd so we can go out if we need to, but the single track is that icy I'm not going anywhere unless we really need to. Seen a few people running back and fore, most of them really slowly... postie must have a special van though 'cos romped past the drive at I don't know what speed... not a chance of stopping if she had to.

Even one of the tractors took a spin up here - just noticed that the oil in the heating tank is very low so will need to order some - hope they can get up here. I really wish we had an open fire.

Yeah, the fire we have has made a huge difference... TBH, we've all been a bit too hot in the house over the last few days... had the windows of the living room open when it was about -5-ish outside and the living room was still in the high 20's.
wildgarlic

It's currently 12 C in my living room

Nice...

Temp outside is rising... albeit slowly. Only about -3 here now. Living room is "only" 24.5 degrees
myra

bathroom window is not double glazed, woke up to ice on the inside of that window and that was with the central heating on! was nice in a way though - took me right back to childhood when we always had ice on the inside of the windows. bitterly cold still but beautiful to look at.
lor138

Bedroom, bathroom and back door glass is frozen on the inside today.
kimmie

Matts car is still not going anywhere and its -2.5 now
IainC

We're getting even warmer out here... -0.5 outside now... it's almost summer temps

Still doesn't seem to be shifting that quickly though.
wildgarlic

About 1C here - anyone else use the Orange mobile network? I've got no signal on mine.

That's the top temperature I get, over lunch time, when the sun shines on the caravan... This morning the contents of my sink was frozen. But I've already got acclimatised - I really don't feel the cold. Mind you, it helps that the house I moved out of wasn't much warmer, and definitely was damper!
Cassiepod

Shirley, there was an article in the Piper about one of the phone providers swithing off their mast with no warning I'll dig it out tonight in case it was Orange....

BBC weather says Banchory is still at -3.. No hope of anything defrosting. Looks like England's in for a stormy night too...
wildgarlic

I saw that Cassie - it was O2, but thanks

We were without BT too because they'd cut off our outgoing calls after making a mess of our bill - we've disputed it and paid an agreed amount but they still have us disconnected. Grrr.

Orange is back now but has cut off a couple of times.
Lemonysnicket

Was snowing in Aberdeen when I left at 5pm..
