wind , rain sleet hail and a bit of snow in mintlaw today just wind and rain now i am home large breakers as far out to sea as i can sea at least the fog has gone
discovered that rain sounds differant on the differant plastics in the poly tunnels and the glass houses were i spent most of the day sheltering from the weather leaning on a rake/brush learning how to work for the council
just seen a forcast and looks like more wintery showers for next couple of days

Only works if there are more than 2 of you I'm told sounds like you've had an ok first day - apart from the hiddeous weather. Blowing a gale here and the house steps are still full of slush from the earlier sleet/hail - and yes Kimmie snow (do I detect an evil genius laugh?)

yeah there was 6 of us and at one point 5 were watching one guy fix a door handle
had a good first day was mainly clearing out pollytunnels and getting the place tidy picking up compost bags from all over the nursery that had been blowing around for a year or more i even got to play in the giant sand pit were the bare root shrubs go (much rake leaning when the showers were on)
due to get 46,500 plug plants in tommorrow for potting up between 8 of us befor another 52,000 on mon/tues next week lucks like i might even get overtime

Apols for hijacking the weather thread. Oh my word....how many? My gardening 'stuff' seems idle. Mmm think I'd better start thinking of it as a 'proper' job. No more rake leaning then? You'll have to let us know what's coming and going - be interesting to know what's being planted in the shire.

mainly begonias and geraniums this week but alsorts between now and mid june
was suprised that thet all arrive as plug plants
the good thing is there is a giant mixer that mixes a pile of compost with 12 bags compost and fertilisor then it fills the pots as they go on a conveyor belt then on to potting benches
theres a dozen massive pollys that will be full with in a couple of weeks so think it will be busy once the plants arrive
