Huntly is the setting for a genuine Homecoming experience this summer as the Gordon Highlanders International Pipe Band and the Gordon Highlanders Association return to the regiment’s spiritual home for an afternoon of authentic North East entertainment.
At 13.15 on Thursday 30th July, the town’s impressive Square is the venue for the start of a march down the tree-lined avenue to the Cooper Park near the broodingly spectacular setting of Huntly Castle. The rest of the afternoon gives you the chance to experience true North East culture with fiddlers, dancers and singers, alongside community stalls and a variety of local produce. The climax of the event at 17.00 is one of the few Beating Retreat performances by the Gordon Highlanders International Pipe Band during their tour of Scotland.
The event offers something for all the family. Why not join us for the day and sample the traditional community hospitality of our attractive, historic market town?
