Micro-hydro turbine bid for Allargue Estate. | Quote: | AN ABERDEENSHIRE landowner wants to harness the energy of a fast-flowing burn to supply power to houses on a sprawling estate.
Allargue Estate at Strathdon has applied to Aberdeenshire Council for permission to install an 11-kilowatt micro-hydro turbine, which will generate enough electricity for nine average households.
The 6,000-acre grouse moor estate has a main house and six cottages, but they are too spread out to all benefit. |

A friend of ours has an old disused mill and he is planning to power some of the estate houses using a water turbine too, similar thing to this I think. Its fabby idea!
