May Workshop Craft Group

I know I'm jumping the gun a bit - especially as me and Andy haven't posted pics of the last one yet...but...who wants to host a May meet? The lurgy in our house might mean I can't?!

Heard lots of ideas in the past - willow work...baskets hurdles etc, pottery, lathework, natural fabric dye, wine and gin making (or did I make that one up   ) cookery demo (erm, could have made that one up too) Clay oven building - now I KNOW I didn't make that one up....I'm sure there were more ideas too.

Hee hee - I remember - the fantastic Mar-Har are on their way up.   that'll be spinning and natural dyes then.

Anyone fancy 2 groups in May?

sounds good to me, we could start thinking about being out in the workshop by the end of may, so that would be good. i may be able to accomodate, but not sure if ill be up to it yet,  so maybe best somewhere else, i rather ancy pottery myself althogh the cooking sounds good too i could do with a lesson

I could do one here but will need some help in terms of setting up.

Still need to get this potters wheel set up here and D has a lathe too - and other bits of machinery. Could do with some strong people to come and help move things about with a view to holding craft evenings here, and I know that the wheel requires some bolts to fix it together - and will need a bit of TLC. A project in itself perhaps. Just need to get it into position first.

Boat renovation is another thing we could do here - as D has got two of Andy's boats here. One I think would be better used as a planter - but D reckons Andy may not be impressed with that idea.

I now have tyres that work - but they cost an arm and a leg and so I can barely afford to put any fuel into the car. I think I'll be putting some books and other stuff on to the emporium/Ebay shortly

Spinning please and dyes. Anyone guess why.   I also really like the look of basketry...after reading thread....have some red dogwood here too.

Oh, happy to host a meet here now that we don't have the cat lurgy bugs (ringworm!) took two visits to the vet and an empty purse to come to that conclusion.

We still thinking of having 2 in May?

hope so,
Julie

We have Gordons's Mum coming for a visit at the end of the month. I will come along if she has gone home by then. By then, I should be partway through the hooked rug, so I'll have something different to do.

I ought to confess that now it has been extended to a whole family affair, I'm not so keen to host.
My oldest dog is a bit grumpy around strange people unless they leave him alone, and children might pester him. I'm not willing to shut him away as it's his home first and he is a good dog.
I don't mind doing small, adult workshops in the future which could include mature youngsters.

id love to do one, but i think ill make it in the first week of june, whatever day is best, so if maria does one this month soon, and ill do one in june, perhaps we could fit one in with julie, and bracken too, then theres the pottery evening at wgs.  but we had better pull our fingers out or the summer will be gone before we know it
