Marhar are a coming - wed 16th sept - woohooo

Marhar will be visiting neepshire and will be spending a few hours at my place (or more if i can tempt them into staying for tea ) to chat and craft.

It would be grand to see some folks here. I know there are a few neeps who have not had the opportunity to meet these lovely folks yet. They'll be here about 2pm-ish, and with a little luck they'll stay long enough for anyone working to come over and craft for a while in the evening with us? (purty pweeese Marhar   )

If you've not been to my place before, drop me a pm if you need directions.

I'm afraid that I'll miss them this time around... but hope to catch up another time.

Julie

Will come over if i'm here - not decided whether to visit Mum on my birthday yet.
andybebbington

I am hoping to come along if no one else has plans for me
Babzzii

Dad just rung to ask for an update..

You keep him plied with tea and jaffa cakes, he might just overstay a welcome

Maybe shouldn't tell you...mince tatties and mealie pud is a favourite of his...mumz changes it does depend on how she is feeling

He also asked me to send him some sunshine, so I take it that you haven't had the sun we had today lolol
Dale

Ill try to be there thanks Maria, what are we making ?
Maria

Ooooh great stuff folks...be great to see you here....just a week to go now.

I'm going to a lantern making workshop tomorrow eve so hoping to share what i learn with folks. It's a facilitators workshop, so the idea is you learn enough to take back to your groups and show them how to. Most of the lanterns are hoped to be used during the Huntly Halloween Hairst....although i promise i won't force you to come to that too    T'will be a lot of fun though...hee hee. Oh, should have said the lanterns are made from willow and paper...so with luck I should have enough materials here already from the basketry workshop.

Back to the VIP's. Anyone make a fine mealie pud? Got to convince at least one of the crafty two to stay...Mar might be tempted with something sweet...as long as i remember to make it diabetic friendly(mmm hope i haven't confused Mar with someone else??)....someone help....only a week to go.

You remembered correctly mumz is the diabetic one and she also has wheat allergy...her treat to herself is a bit of dark chocolate nearly every day

Could you let me know if you're coming along (here or pm) so i have some idea of how much i need to re-arrange the furniture.

Not sure if i'll have time to arrange the willow lantern making? It should really take two sessions to complete the lantern. The frame is made from stripped buff willow, covered in strong tissue paper and covered in a thin latex solution to waterproof it. Will let folks asap.

It might be a 'bring what you're working on' crafty meet. Hope that's ok. I also heard a whisper that Marhar will be bringing a few crafty goodies with them again.
Sassinak

Sorry but I will be halfway down the motorway by then :-(

I shall get to meet them eventually
andybebbington

hi maria i am coming just me tho this time
coire

I think Marhar might be bringing up the iron I bid for? Unfortunately I can't make it over, but could someone hang on to the iron and I'll work out how to get it, and let me know where to send a cheque/money?

Cheers,

Jane
Smooth Hound

ill be over im not really working on anything at the moment though
coire

Many thanks to Marhar for delivering the iron! Kate will be able to look as smart as a teenager needs to on occasion, and it will come in really handy if I ever have to go to an interview again. (As for my other two children, they will be forbidden to go near it with any crayons ....)

I hope you have a great time in neepshire.

Cheers,

Jane

Hi to all We, that is Mar and I have arrived home safely and would like to thank Maria for her hospitality for the use of her home to make a bit of money for NEEPS and of course  her mealy pudding which I greatly enjoyed. We will look out for more stuff for in the future.
Kind regards to all
Marhar
Smooth Hound

good to hear your home safe.
Maria

The thanks should be all mine. For your good company, the fine fibres donated to neeps (which are now doing the rounds with AndyB) and for helping Carrot Lover to try her hand at spinning again.

Twas lovely to have folks here. Looking forward to the next gathering....and even further forward to spring when Marhar will visit again.

Oh....should have said...total so far is £36...and perhaps Andy's mum and gran will be tempted by some of the goodies...and hopefully ZC will get to have a look too. That's if there's anything left   Oops forgot, there's also a few pounds to come from Coire for the much maligned iron.
Smooth Hound

oh yes the iron   the now famous iron, youll have to treat that with respect
alimum4

Is there any goodies left for me to have a look at?
Maria

Might be an idea to pm Andy - not sure how he's doing for pc access at the min so he might see it sooner that way? Everyone seems to be going down with the dreaded pc lurgy.
Smooth Hound

the lurgy.   ill be staying away from everyone.
Julie

Sorry I couldn't make it Marhar, I was cutting up pigs. They needed to go the week before really, so it couldn't be put off any longer.
