M.E.Many of you will know that my eldest son has been having recurring periods of illness for a couple of years now... today he went to the hospital and they've decided that it is in fact M.E. - the same specialist that said it wasn't a recognised illness gave today's diagnosis.
So - what advice have they given? Try to carry on as normal and you might grow out of it.
Relieved to have a diagnosis finally and now looking for further information.

Good to know what you are dealing with - not so good that it is that! I think I have a book on the subject somewhere that I picked up in a charity shop; I'll look it out for you.

The best advice I've ever heard on how to live with ME is to listen to your body. If you feel exhausted, you are, so go to bed and sleep a while. Some days are far better than others, but listening to your body tells you how far you can go, so you don't overdo it.
The great bit is that it DOES go away. It takes longer to do so if you push yourself.
My thoughts are with your son, and you WG.

Fia has it right.
ME was something we were considering when I was ill recently, so I looked into it quite a bit. If he over-does it then he will make himself worse and it will take longer to get better. There are Yahoo groups for folk with it, which are rather like online support groups. The best thing to do is to find out as much as possible, and make sure he doesnt try too much.
