Even now, as an old lady, lol I drool after big bikes
I missed my way and should have been a biker when I was younger. Ex hubby had a Norton Commando (You oldies will have heard of them !) but changed to a car when the kids came along. Always promised ourselves that when we were rich and the kids grown up we would have a big bike for summer and a car for winter. Never mind

I've just got my Yamaha XJ600S back on the road too, just in time for all the rain!
Bikes are great, and cheap to run.

We had a Yamaha Diversion too - bought it new when I passed my bike test in 1998. Sold it in 2002, as with two kids by then, I just wasn't using it. I was always a bit of a coward anyway, and tootled along like a granny on a moped!
It was a nice bike, but a bit too heavy for me to manouvre easily.
Beautiful looking bike BTW Dale.

hi smooth hound, the en500 is a kawasaki! I could of course be wrong and it may not be one of these, however, i am fairly sure that it is one of them!

I should imagine they are now like most modern cars - you can't repair them without a full workshop and computer
I tried to have a look at my daughter's car the other week as it had a misfire. I do a few basic mechanicky bits like spraying things with WD40 and twiddling cables lol I said we will check the spark plugs and cables - I couldn't even find them !! They were hidden under this large plastic turbo thingy - I gave up at that point and admitted that I was totally out of my depth

Yes your right it is an en 500 Kawasaki belt drive. Took my test today in Elgin cant remember last time I got that wet.... But I passed !!!! couldnt stop shaking so chuffed..
We also gave up our bikes when the kids came along so now they have all grown up we can play again.
There is a bike rally in Avimore this weekend if anyone is interested all for charity ( thunder in the glen ) should be a great meet if you dont mind getting wet as more rain forcast.

WELL DONE DALE!!
My wee brother just passed his test last week and he was out on his new bike for the first time last night, i was worried all night until he phoned me and let me know that he was ok!!
I would have gone to Aviemore, but i am not a big harley fan and that is really all that is there, i am afraid that i am of the mind that you should ride your bikes to rallies, not get them transported up to within a couple of miles and then ride in and comment on how great a ride it was, sounds stupid i know but these harley guys do it a lot!!
Hopefully we will get a chance to meet up sometime and go for a ride, i often have "sleep overs" down here for a lot of my biker friends, i will keep you posted for the next one, but likely to be a fair while before it though, i need to sort out our accomodation first before we can have any visitors LOL!!
Andy.

Hmmm... not the Harley guys that I know. In fact I know a couple of guys who've left this week for a tour round europe on their bikes. You'll always get a couple though who are only there for the pose I guess though, see it at some of the car shows we go to, guys who're spending huge amounts of cash on cars to trailer them to events and back (but not race them once they are there, just polish them)... can't see the point in it myself.

I think they are doing a run on Saturday from Avimore to Granten on Spey and back .

We used to be up there around the same time as the Harley guys were there in past years... not sure if we'll be around this time round though.
