Loaf FaceLast weekend a friend bought a lemon cake at Collieston Gala and it was really lovely, so I went down to their stall in Ellon this morning. I could hardly get near for the crowd, but did buy a carrot & pumpkin seed cake. I thought they were a bit pricey, (£3.50 for a very small loaf style) however, no complaints about the actual taste and texture of the cake.

Loaf FaceYes - I thought it was expensive too but not any more than the Contential Market or the batch loaves you can buy over the internet

Sounds great - expensive? Well maybe... compared to the mass produced crud that you can buy at T*sco. Carrot and pumpkin seed cake sounds lovely.

| Quote: | MUMS' FOOD FIRM TICKLES TASTEBUDS
08:50 - 22 September 2007
Four mums, who launched a part-time food firm seven weeks ago, have scored a double success in a competition to encourage innovation and enterprise.
The team from Collieston-based cookery co-operative Loaf Face won both £1,000 prizes in the Dragons Den-style contest run by the Formartine Forum.
The four friends - a lecturer, a scientist, a photographer and a teacher - are bringing up 10 young children between them, but they have also found the time to set up their own business selling both ethical and environmentally sensitive produce.
The group - Elaine Adam, Morag Macleod, Tracy Coxon and Kerrin Angel-Irvine - use locally-sourced ingredients to create loaves, jams and other produce containing no artificial preservatives.
Loaf Face is committed to not clocking up food miles and, since launching at this summer's Collieston Gala, has been selling its wares on a stall at the Saturday farmers' market in nearby Ellon.
