japanese quail.

Well, we have finally found some wives for Charlie, our lonely quail. Somebody was advertising quail eggs in the Scot-ads, so we called them and asked if they had any adult birds. He is in the process of getting rid of the year olds to make room for new breeding stock, so we came home with 5 x 1year old females. He has new birds coming on and sells a lot on e-bay as fertile eggs. He also has lots of rare breed hens and turkeys for christmas.
The quail are quite bald, but seem to be moulting and were in with quite a few boys, so hopefully with a bit of a rest should recover. They are big birds and lay big eggs, so we can enjoy some quail eggs again soon, and Charlie will be a happy boy again- and my quail run will finally get some use!

If we EVER make it to a co-op we will be sure and take some for you, we might stand a chance of getting there this month.
