Intelliplug - a waste of time or notI've been using one of these for a while now but have just realised (yes ok, it was fairly obvious but hadn't occurred to me) that although it cuts the power to any peripherals (printer, speakers, screen, scanner) it leaves the power going through to the computer.
So, would I be better off putting my computer back onto a surge protected plugboard and switching that off at the end of play? I think so.

we're just doing a similar test at work on computers. I think they do save money. I'll give you the numbers once they are ready.
We have a huge one for the tv and all related electronics and it must be saving money 'cos most things go off.

Waste of time when all you need is a switch to kill the power to everything

Guess they could be handy if you couldn't easily access the socket though.
Although I did half wonder about the remote control plugs where you can power them off easily without having to reach the sockets (got some in behind a large bookcase in my case).
