IncubatorsDoes anyone have any recs for an incubator?
We have an Octagon20, which we have had for many years - possibly we bought it in 1992 or then abouts. It hadn't been used much for a few years & we have recently put it back into action.
We've had very poor results - 2 hatchlings out of 12 eggs & then another 2 out of 24 eggs. The fan doesn't seem up to circulating the warmth - only the eggs in the centre seem warm - those set on the outer sections feel quite cool.
We've been checking the eggs of the latest batch - many of those that were fertile developed only so far - a very small embryo - which died in the shell.
We think that it's always been a bit poor with results - the last time we remember using it, we got 2 ducklings out of a clutch of 15 eggs.
I think it's time we got a newer model - can anyone recommend a reliable incubator - capable of handling up to 24 eggs?
As an aside - Has anyone built their own incubator ?
Many thanks
Kind regards

We bought a Maino MPS35A automatic turn incubator from Wheatcroft Poultry - fast delivery and they seem to know what they are about. Hatched 23 from 26 duck eggs.

Thanks for the reply.
I'll have a look at the site.
May I ask why you picked that one rather than a Brinsea?
Spookily we were trying to hatch some Dark Brahma - must have been karma that you replied
Kind regards
